The History of FBA

           

     The Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) was originally called “Department of Commerce”.It was first open on 5th June 1995. At the beginning there was only one department, which was Commerce. The Department admitted students who had finished their middle school (equivalent to Matthayom 3). The duration of the program was three years. Upon graduation, the students received Vocational Certificates. The first intakes consisted of 30 students, 15 males and 15 females students. Classes were held at Worrranaree Chaloem Songkhla School. The principal of Worranaree Chaloem Songkhla School was appointed as the Head of Department, which is deemed as the first Dean. The Department gradually developed as follows.


 - 1961: Vocational Diploma Program in Accounting (2 years) was offered for Vocational Certificate graduates (ceased enrollments in 2003).

 - 1963: Vocational Diploma Program in Secretary (2 years) was offered for Vocational Certificate graduates (ceased enrollments in 2006).

 - 1964: The Department of Commerce was given a new name, “the School of Business Administration”

 - 1965: Vocational Diploma Program in Accounting (3 years) was offered for high school graduates (ceased enrollments in 1969).

 - 1967: Vocational Diploma Program in Secretary (3 years) was offered for Vocational Certificate graduates (ceased enrollments in 1972).

 - 1983: Vocational Diploma Program in Marketing (3 years) was offered for Vocational Certificate graduates (ceased enrollments in 2006).

 - 1986: Bachelor's Degree Program in Business Studies – Accounting (2 years) was offered (ceased enrollments in 1995).

 - 1995: Vocational Diploma Program in Business Computer was offered for Vocational Certificate graduates. Two more bachelor's degree programs were offered in General Management and Industrial Management.

 - 1999: Bachelor's Degree Program in Marketing was offered.

 - 2005: Bachelor's Degree Program in Office Management was offered.

 - 2005: Bachelor's Degree Program in Computer Information Systems was offered.

 - 2007: Accounting Bachelor's Degree Program was revised and improved. The degree name changed to Bachelor of Accounting.

 - 2010: Computer Information System Program was revised and given a new name, Information Systems for Business.
